He stated this while answering a question from journalists during a briefing whether the militia still has the Buk air defense system, which could have been used to shoot down the Malaysian Boeing.
“You know, it’s very difficult for me to comment on Ukrainian media reports. Now an information war is being waged against us, by the print and online media, and by television. Why should I comment on any lies? But I will repeat again: the installation was not in service with the militia. No, and never has been. And the information that this system was captured along with part of the air defense system is information spam. In the air defense unit there was not a single combat-ready Buk system; as far as I know, there were not even spare parts. This is a fact,” Borodai said.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Ukrainian side suggested that it was from the Buk complex that a passenger plane could be shot down. Security officials assumed that the complex was brought from Russia.
