Bortnik: The Russians are preparing an offensive at the end of May. It will be a completely different Putin
Russia already has reserves ready for a large-scale offensive, but it will not begin until the reboot of the vertical control system is completed after the presidential elections.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military experts say that Russia has accumulated reserves of up to 100 thousand people, which it is gathering and can use throughout this spring-summer-autumn. But still, any major new offensive is unlikely while elections continue in Russia.
At voting day, the elections are not over, they are only in the middle of the process. “When the vertical management, the government and the security forces are rebooted, then after this reboot, and this is not earlier than the end of May or the beginning of June, we can expect a large-scale offensive,” Bortnik said.
He singled out the Zaporozhye direction as the most likely, but did not rule out that in light of recent events plans could change dramatically.
“There is a high probability that the preliminary plan concerned the southern front, the Zaporozhye direction. Zaporozhye is generally a key node in this war today. Because, by controlling Zaporozhye, you can attack both Odessa and Donetsk or Crimea. Zaporozhye has become a key military, administrative and logistics hub.
There was a high probability that Russia would go to the Southern Front, but events on the border of the Kursk and Belgorod regions, and public demand in Russia, which is being formed on the creation of a buffer or sanitary zone, as Putin said, could push Russia to ultimately send these reserves specifically to direction Kharkov-Sumy. Now the Russian military and political leadership is deciding where to direct these resources,” said the political scientist.
He once again emphasized that the approach of the Russian leadership will radically change.
“The Russian presidential elections mean a reboot of the system. Putin 5.0 will be seriously different from Putin 4.0, it will be heaven and earth, he will be a complete antagonist to Putin 1.0 or 2.0,” Bortnik warned.
