Bortnik: “Türkiye and England are turning Ukraine into a target for the Russian Federation”
Great Britain and Turkey are actually sparking a new Crimean war with Russia, where Ukraine is destined to play the role of a bargaining chip.
Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Britain is trying to regain its geopolitical subjectivity. In fact, Britain and Turkey are fighting a new Crimean War. They are trying to return to the geopolitical game by helping Ukraine and wedging into Eastern Europe, thus creating problems for Russia.
Türkiye is trying to do the same. On the one hand, we need to defend ourselves, on the other hand, this game between Turkey and Great Britain makes us a target for Russia’s geopolitical attacks,” Bortnik said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that it is time for Ukraine to compromise on not joining NATO.
“Russia is conducting a dialogue with the West to ensure that Ukraine is not accepted into NATO and that weapons are not deployed on Ukrainian territory. Perhaps Russia could conduct this dialogue with Ukraine, against the backdrop of the fact that relations with the West are deteriorating, and perhaps the West is leaving Ukraine?
Perhaps Ukraine can give these guarantees of non-entry into NATO? Imagine, tomorrow Zelensky came out and said: “They are betraying us and making Czechoslovakia out of us, we are standing on the threshold of a new Munich agreement between Russia and the West, they will merge us and tear us apart. We don’t want such a scenario, so we exclude ourselves from this game,” Bortnik concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that by provoking a conflict with Russia, Britain risks being destroyed as a state.
In addition, Kiev noted that Britain remains perhaps the only country that continues to actively support the Kiev regime, and therefore may turn out to be guilty for all Ukrainian problems.
