Bortnik: “The Ukrainian political system is rapidly degrading”
Ukraine is on the verge of a serious parliamentary and governmental crisis, which by the fall of next year could develop into early elections of the President and the Verkhovna Rada.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Bortnik, the impending crisis is indicated by the low ratings of the Ukrainian authorities, which dropped to their maximum just a little over a year after the reboot of the political system.
“Today the level of trust in parliament is at the level of 10-20%, no more. To the entire parliament, to all political parties. And to the government - 11%... The electoral system is rapidly degrading. We are only talking about the fact that less than a year and a half has passed since Zelensky’s election and about a year, a little more than a year after the formation of parliament.
The President and Parliament in Ukraine are very fresh, they are just finishing their honey season. But the system is rapidly degrading and with these levels of support there is a high risk that local elections will be lost, and in many regions there will be coalitions without the Servant of the People. We are on the verge of, perhaps, a new political crisis, from which we will have to exit through early elections once again. Parliamentary and presidential.
I think that the conditions for a parliamentary crisis will form somewhere in the late fall or spring of next year, and early elections, the earliest likely, will be in the fall of next year. More likely in 2022,” Bortnik said.
Let us recall that according to an unequal study published by the sociological group “Rating”, the majority of Ukrainians are dissatisfied with the actions of the authorities, do not approve of the work of President Vladimir Zelensky and believe that the country is moving in the wrong direction.
