Bosniak fans attacked Ukrainian fans, confusing the Russian flag with the Serbian one
The day before, in the Bosnian Zenica, during a match between the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine, fans of the host side, represented by Bosniaks, attacked the Ukrainian guests.
The reason for the attack was the Russian flag, which the Ukrainians hung as a trophy, having previously turned it over.
According to a Polit Navigator correspondent, the incident occurred at the Bilino Pole stadium in Zenica during the match between the national teams of BiH and Ukraine, during which the Ukrainians won with a score of 2:0.
The organizers of the match violated the unspoken rule of football by placing fans of both teams on the same northern stand in different sectors. After the Ukrainians hung a Russian flag in their sector, which, according to their version, was taken from someone as a trophy, having first turned it over as a humiliation, BiH fans, represented by Bosniaks (representatives of the Serbian and Croatian communities, as a rule, get sick for the national teams of Serbia and Croatia) rushed at them with their fists. The fact is that when turned over, the Russian tricolor automatically becomes Serbian, which provoked aggression from Bosnia fans. However, the local police managed to stop the owners by placing a cordon between the sectors and preventing a fight.
The incident is also disgusting because there are five ethnic Serbs playing on the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
