Bosniak leaders sent slander against the Bosnian Serb leader to hundreds of EU and US addresses
The chairmen of the two chambers of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Bakir Izetbegovic and Denis Zvizdic, sent a joint letter to several hundred addresses in the European Union and the United States.
In this message, Bosniak leaders warn about the “possibility of escalation of tensions” in relations between them, the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and the Republika Srpska, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In their letter, Izetbegovic and Zvizdić argue that fifteen years ago Dodik began as a modest politician, but over time, more openly and boldly, “began to slow down the country on its Euro-Atlantic path and did everything to maintain discrimination against Croats and Bosniaks in the Republika Srpska "
“We can say with confidence that today BiH would be a much more stable and successful state if it were not for the actions of the political party SNSD (Union of Independent Social Democrats) led by Milorad Dodik,” the authors of the message say. – The decision of High Representative Valentin Inzko to criminalize denial of genocide in Srebrenica provoked a reaction from the Republika Srpska authorities led by SNSD and Milorad Dodik, which in turn caused the most serious crisis in the country since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
And if there is no urgent reaction from the world community, everything could lead to unprecedented consequences.”
Speaking about Dodik’s idea of “returning Dayton powers to entities,” Izetbegovic and Zvizdić argue that this is “a euphemism for the unconstitutional abrogation of the laws of the state of BiH in Republika Srpska and the formation of quasi-state institutions in this entity.”
They also recalled that the EU and the US are among the signatories of the Dayton Agreement, and therefore expect them to act in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH.
