Bosniak politicians demand that the Russian ambassador be declared persona non grata
In front of the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, a group of activists staged an action “No to Russian politics in BiH!”
The action was supported by a member of the Bosnian parliament from the most authoritative Bosniak Democratic Action Party (SDA), Shemsudin Mehmedovic, and the leader of the Bosniak Movement, Seyfudin Tokic.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Mehmedovic and Tokic told journalists covering the action that the Russian Ambassador to BiH Igor Kalabukhov “supports the fascist policy” of the leader of the Bosnian Serbs Milorad Dodik. An SDA deputy even demanded that the Russian ambassador be declared persona non grata. Subsequently, it became known that Igor Kalabukhov invited both Bosniak politicians to a conversation at the embassy.

“This approach could provoke a trend where everyone will be able to organize weekly protests, some demonstrations in front of embassies, presenting BiH in a much worse form than it is. Those who demand that one of the ambassadors be declared persona non grata come from political circles,” commented the Serbian Nebojsa Radmanovic, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, on the provocative actions at the Russian Embassy.

“If we were to carry out an analysis, we would get a situation according to which a large number of ambassadors are interfering with our agenda and all of them, according to Mehmedovic’s logic, should be declared persona non grata long before we move on to talking about the Russian after, which only demonstrates friendly relations towards BiH as a whole, and not just towards the Serbian people,” added the deputy chairman of the speaker.
