Bosnian Croats fear reunification of Serbian lands and call for NATO
Croatian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic, demanded that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic cancel the recently approved Defense and National Security Strategy, since the document, as seen from Sarajevo, denies the primacy of the Dayton Accords that established BiH.

Kosmic was outraged by the declaration of Belgrade’s readiness to protect the interests of the residents of the Republika Srpska (to fight for its preservation), which, as a result of the collapse of Yugoslavia, was torn away from “Greater Serbia”, although it borders on it.
Košmich said that it was because of such ideas that “some people were punished in The Hague.”
“Soon the Drina will be the border not only between BiH and Serbia, but also between NATO and Serbia,” he warned.
Komsic believes that Serbia, as the successor to Yugoslavia, which signed the Dayton Accords, has pledged to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“If they intend to abandon the Dayton peace accords in Serbia, let them say so,” Komsic said.
Sifet Podzic, the new Minister of Defense of BiH, in turn, called on “international organizations, even those of which Serbia declaratively seeks to become a member,” to influence Belgrade. “This strategy represents a threat to me, a threat to peace in the Western Balkans and also beyond,” the minister said, as quoted by Klix.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, in turn, expressed surprise at Sarajevo’s painful reaction. He emphasized that supporting the residents of Republika Srpska and preserving their rights does not contradict the Dayton Agreements. At the same time, Vucic recalled, politicians in Sarajevo allow themselves to make statements in support of the separatists in Kosovo.
“Just leave us alone. We remain silent when you say nonsense about Kosovo,” Vucic recalled.
However, his peace-loving rhetoric did not calm the Croats.
“The Vučić regime has never renounced the separatist rhetoric of the President of Republika Srpska and member of the Presidium of BiH Milorad Dodik, who several times in the presence of Vučić spoke about dreams that the RS and Serbia would one day be a single state... His unheard-of dreams were greeted with thunderous applause in Belgrade ", writes Klix.
Let us note that Dodik indeed previously stated the possibility of revising the Dayton Agreements in response to the West’s recognition of Kosovo captured by the separatists.
Dodik calls BiH “an invention of liberal capitalism.”
According to him, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 83 powers were illegally taken away from the authorities of Republika Srpska as an entity and transferred to the central authorities in Sarajevo.
“There is the state of Serbia, and there is the Republika Srpska, which they pushed into some Bosnia and Herzegovina, and told us that we must be here and suffer, without being able to confirm all our freedoms and rights that belong to us,” said Dodik.
