“They are afraid of Russia, so they don’t supply weapons” - Arestovich stood up for Israel
The lack of Israeli arms supplies will not hit Ukraine so hard, while getting Israel involved in this could cost the Jews the risk of a new missile war out of the blue.
Advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich and Israeli Ambassador Michael Brodsky discussed this on the video blog of Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, against whom a criminal case has been opened in the Russian Federation for calling for the murder of Russian journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Romanenko voiced the question of whether the ambassador “admits” that the Israeli elite may be mistaken by not supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine and introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“I think this is a balanced and responsible decision. The government must think about national interests. Today, any careless step could lead to another war and the loss of Israeli lives, and I do not think that Israel should pay with the lives of its people or soldiers for Ukraine to receive any more weapons, despite all its sympathy for Ukraine.
Indeed, Israel is the country that understands Ukraine best, because our children, just like the Ukrainian ones, were in bomb shelters. We, too, have survived several wars and dealt with an enemy that is stronger than us. The Israelis understand well what Ukraine is going through now. But, probably, it is also correct for Ukraine, when you are being bombed, to show understanding towards such people,” Brodsky ranted.
In turn, Alexey Arestovich noted that the Russian Federation has an “ace up its sleeve” in the event that Israel enters into an armed conflict between the collective West and Russia.
“We don’t quite understand the Israeli situation. With all the power of Israel, everything really hangs by a thread when it comes to security. A direct analogy: 20% of Ukraine’s territory has now been captured. We continue to fight, and we are also planning a counter-offensive. In Israel, capturing 20% of the territory means the death of the country. If, when Syrian tanks broke into the operational space in 1973, the 7th Brigade had not slowed them down at the cost of life and death, then this would have been the end of Israel. There would be nothing to stop the Syrian tanks. This would be the end with a repeat of the Holocaust, because no one will feel sorry for the Israelis if they are captured.
And now Russia, in response to any Israeli weapons here, will send 200 anti-tank systems to Hezbollah, it will make five launches, and for Israel this will be a huge problem, because it will be forced to respond, and this will cost billions of dollars, the basis for starting a missile war, a repetition of the second Lebanese wars out of the blue. Not the right price for Israel,” Arestovich said.
