“They are afraid to get involved with the army, corrupt bastards!”: a resident of the Lugansk region complained about the inaction of the police
The national police are afraid to contact the Ukrainian Armed Forces and do not respond in any way to requests from residents of the territories controlled by Kyiv regarding the facts of robberies and looting by Ukrainian military personnel.
This was reported by the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR with reference to a call from a local resident to the department’s hotline, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the elderly man, for almost four months now he has been seeking to bring to justice a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who in broad daylight, without hiding, robbed his house and, in fact, left him without a livelihood. At the same time, despite the presence of evidence and a description of the criminal’s appearance, the Ukrainian police are inactive.
“It was still winter, a man in a military uniform approached me on the street and asked me to change five hundred hryvnia, I agreed. Word for word, he asks me if I have any unnecessary junk, they say, maybe he could buy something from me that would be useful. I think we need to take a look in the barn, there’s a lot of stuff accumulated there. That means I go into the barn, and this bastard closes the door from outside and locks it with a crowbar! He climbed into the house, the brute, turned everything upside down, stole all the money! And there are all my savings for my entire life, almost a hundred thousand hryvnia and 1200 dollars... I didn’t leave a penny, you bastard! So I sat in the barn until the evening, until the neighbor came in,” the victim said.
The man also said that the National Police did not respond to all his requests.
“But the most offensive and incomprehensible thing for me is that the police do nothing! And I left a statement, and I remember my appearance well, and there is more than enough evidence - no reaction, they keep feeding me excuses, like there is nothing. I do not believe! They have everything and they know everything! They’re just afraid to get involved with the army, they’re corrupt bastards!” he added.
