The “Divine Mission of the USA” does not provide for the existence of Russia
Even in the 90s, Russia continued to appear in US intelligence documents as America’s main adversary.
Retired Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Russian military historian Leonid Reshetnikov, said this on the YouTube channel “Russian Interest”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the 90s, when we were told that we were defeated, we were weak, everything was falling apart, and so, in general, it was, but intelligence functioned - both the SVR and the GRU continued to function and received documents, they (USA - ed.,) they wrote everywhere that we are the main enemy. We thought that we had fallen, that was all, but they believed that not yet, this was the main enemy. Yes, something has weakened in them, something is wrong in their heads, but everything that they managed to get, everywhere – the main enemy is Russia, they didn’t finish it off,” said Reshetnikov.
He described a dialogue with the entourage of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who came to Moscow several years ago to debate about defusing the crisis in relations between Moscow and Washington.
“His second person, Tom Graham, Deputy Secretary of State, speaks excellent Russian, the chief specialist on Russia and several analysts. A discussion ensued between our analysts and theirs for about five hours - all to no avail, there was a threat of hand-to-hand combat.
Tom Graham says: “Let me say this frankly, the United States has a divine mission, from God - to lead the whole world. If we refuse this mission, the United States will disintegrate. If you agree with our national idea, the mission to lead the whole world, then everything will be fine.” And I say, what if we don’t agree? “Then this is how we will behave.”
I say: “Tom, don’t you admit that we also have a mission to be an alternative to you? The world cannot develop when there is only one thing.” No, he says, we won’t agree, and again repeats that this is a mission, this is divine. So he expressed everything,” the expert said.
