BOD "Kerch" caught fire for the second time
In Sevastopol, a fire was extinguished on the former large anti-submarine ship “Kerch” of the Black Sea Fleet, the hull of which, after being written off, is now being cut for scrap in Inkerman.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, it was established that the fuel oil caught fire on the lower tier of the deck. A Purga-5 barrel and two water barrels were used to extinguish the fire. The fire area was 60 square meters. There were no dead or injured.
Large anti-submarine ship "Kerch" was sent for disposal in the spring of 2020. Until recently, she was one of the two remaining rank XNUMX ships in the Black Sea Fleet, along with the cruiser Moskva.
Let us remind you that the Kerch BOD underwent restoration repairs in June-November 2014. On November 4, a fire occurred on the ship, significantly damaging a number of aft compartments. The commission that examined the ship decided not to continue restoring the ship, and as a result, in 2015 it was removed from the fleet.
