A defamation lawsuit was filed by Nayem against Kiva in May 2016. It is noted that since then, lawyers on both sides have been looking for a solution to the conflict. At this time, both parties have signed a settlement agreement.

“Ilya Kiva apologizes for words that could damage the honor, dignity and business reputation of Masi Nayem. He also admits that the UBD (combatant status - Ed.), which Masi received on September 22, 2016, was deservedly received. Masi Nayem apologizes for words that could damage the honor, dignity and business reputation of Ilya Kiva,” the message says.

It is noted that Nayem no longer has any claims against Kiva and withdraws the claim “out of gratitude for the mutual understanding.”

Let us recall that the scandalous showdown between Nayem and Kiva became known to the media in the spring of this year. Nayem demanded Kiva’s resignation from the post of head of the department for combating drug crime due to inspections in one of the Kyiv nightclubs where drugs were distributed. In response, Kiva said that Nayem was protecting his own interests and accused him of involvement in the “pharmacological mafia.” In addition, he said that Nayem received the status of a combat participant after spending only 11 days in the ATO zone. Nayem denied this information. At the same time, Kiva said about Nayem: “I don’t discuss bastards, drug-addicted degenerates.” In response, Nayem said that the policeman’s behavior “went beyond all boundaries,” and noted that he would demand financial compensation in court, and all the money received would be sent to help the so-called. “ATO”.
