As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Krivokapic’s arrival is the first official visit of the Prime Minister of Montenegro to Serbia in many years.

Since 2006, when the regime of the current president and former prime minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, withdrew the country from the state union with Serbia and led it to the West, relations between official Podgorica and Belgrade have become tense. Tension continued after the victory last August of the coalition opposing Djukanovic, led by current Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic. The latter managed to deflect the blow of the state machine from the Serbian Orthodox Church, but otherwise his office remained an obedient puppet of the West.

“I personally welcomed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapic,” Aleksandar Vucic commented on the meeting on his Instagram. – For Serbia, relations with Montenegro, as well as with all its neighbors, are of great importance. There is a mutual interest in reviving the infrastructure that connects us, and we attach special importance to the development of economic relations.”

It is also expected that during his two-day visit, Krivokapić will also hold a meeting with the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.

It is symbolic that, having arrived in Belgrade the day before, the Montenegrin prime minister first visited the memorial plaque to the first pro-Western prime minister of Serbia, Zoran Djindjic, who was killed by patriotic soldiers for betraying the country’s interests to the West. By the way, one of the organizers of this assassination attempt, the commander of the legendary special forces “Red Berets” Milorad “Legia” Ulemek, who volunteered in the war in Croatia, Bosnia, and then as a Serbian soldier in Kosovo, sentenced to forty years in prison, recently went on a hunger strike in prison
