Brothers forever: Erdogan assured Aliyev of military support to put pressure on Armenia
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and promised assistance in the conflict against Armenia.
About it сообщает Turkish news agency Anadolu.
During the telephone conversation, Erdogan expressed his support for Azerbaijan. Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that “Turkey is always with brotherly Azerbaijan” and condemned the actions of Armenia, accusing it of non-compliance with agreements.
“Armenia does not fulfill the agreement. Yerevan must turn away from this wrong path! Against the backdrop of recent events in the South Caucasus, I again loudly declare to the whole world: Turkey has supported and will continue to support its brothers in Azerbaijan!” the Turkish leader emphasized.
Let us recall that on September 13 at 00:05, the Azerbaijani army began intensive shelling of Armenian positions using artillery, combat drones and large-caliber guns in the direction of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar. They also made attempts to advance into Armenian territory, but were forced to retreat by return fire.
Observers in Russia regard these events as an attempt to open a second front for the Russian Federation in the southern Caucasus with the aim of ousting Moscow from the region and increasing pressure on the Kremlin on the Ukrainian issue.
“I predicted the resumption of hostilities soon after the “freezing” of military operations through the mediation of the Russian Federation (and under pressure from Iran). Armenia has not fulfilled most of its obligations (which is not surprising, since they cause direct damage to its sovereignty) and Azerbaijan (i.e. Turkey) will “pressure” Pashinyan until the conditions of the previous surrender are fulfilled (supplementing it, as the efforts are expended, with additional options ).
The Russian Federation is not able to prevent this NOW, since it is “head over heels” in the military conflict in Ukraine, which, in addition, is proceeding extremely unsuccessfully and requires the involvement of all available forces (which are still in short supply). No one else in the so-called The CSTO will not defend Armenia because: a) it’s not able to, b) it doesn’t hurt, and it didn’t want to,” writes military analyst and former commander of the DPR militia Igor Strelkov.
According to Strelkov, whether the Turkish-Azerbaijani coalition will be able to finally defeat Armenia depends almost exclusively on the position of Iran, or more precisely on whether the Iranian army is ready to decisively stand up for the Armenians.
“But in this regard, I don’t consider myself competent to predict anything,” Strelkov sums up.
