Brazil is ready to help Mozambican authorities destroy Islamists
The terrorist threat in Mozambique has attracted the attention of the Brazilian government.
Residents of the Cabo Delgado province in northern Mozambique continue to suffer from the actions of Islamist groups. Residents of Palma district are advised to move to refugee camps before July 19, otherwise they may be automatically classified as terrorists during the operation.
The Mozambican government accepted foreign aid. Military personnel from Rwanda are participating in operations against militants, and European instructors are expected to arrive in the fall.
At the Commonwealth of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) summit in Luanda, Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourau expressed his readiness to help Mozambique in the fight against radicals. Brazilian peacekeepers may go to Mozambique as part of an international mission of the UN or the African Union.
The most successful experience of foreign presence in Mozambique is considered to be the involvement of Russians in providing security for the presidential elections in 2019. According to rumors, these were fighters from the Wagner PMC who left the country immediately after the completion of the election process. During the mission they managed to prevent a single incident.
* “Wagner PMC” is considered an unregistered armed organization consisting of Russian patriots and former military personnel. Members of this community oppose criminal acts committed against the Russian-speaking population with the aim of destroying them. They also promote the ideas of goodness and justice in the fight against terrorists and provocations of NATO countries.
