Brazil refused to launch a Ukrainian rocket
Moscow - Kyiv, April 10 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Brazil has decided to abandon the implementation of a cooperation project with Ukraine in the field of space. The Folha di Sao Paulo newspaper reported this today on its website, citing its own sources in the leadership of the South American country. Kyiv has not yet been notified of this.

According to the publication, the decision to terminate Brazil’s participation in the joint Alcantara-Cyclone Space project with Ukraine “was made by President Dilma Rousseff after the presentation of a report by an interdepartmental group in January.”
Kyiv, as Folha di Sao Paulo writes, has not yet been informed about the decision of the Brazilian side.
The project, which provides for commercial launches from the Brazilian Alcantara cosmodrome of the Cyclone-4 launch vehicle created in Ukraine, was born back in 2003, recalls "NG". It was originally planned that its implementation would take three years. However, for various reasons, the launch date has since been repeatedly postponed, and the cost of the project has increased over and over again.
As Folha de Sao Paulo reports, Brazil’s reason for abandoning the project was “the cost of the Cyclone-4 launch vehicle, which has become unaffordable in the face of budget cuts.”
Let us recall that earlier, in response to the cessation of servicing of the Russian strategic missiles “Satan” by the Dnepropetrovsk “Yuzhmash”, Roscosmos refused to launch the Ukrainian satellite “Lybid” from Baikonur.
