Poroshenko proposes to first test the crazy ideas of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance on government officials
Kyiv, December 19 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – It is proposed to test the introduction of a 30% tax on citizens’ expenses exceeding declared income on government officials. This statement was made by Poroshenko’s ally, people’s deputy Oksana Prodan.

Maintaining a method of monitoring the expenses and income of citizens, planned as part of tax reforms in Ukraine for 2015, is advisable only after full testing and development of all the necessary mechanisms when declaring income by government officials, the deputy believes.
“I am absolutely convinced that the introduction of a report on the income of individuals, which supposedly all citizens of Ukraine must submit, should begin with the implementation of these norms in relation to officials. Only from the second half of 2015 will anti-corruption norms regarding officials begin to take effect, according to which they will have to report on their income... and all citizens will begin to be forced into it as early as January 1. I am absolutely convinced of the need for officials to practice declaring income and expenses for a year, two, three. For example, in England such a system was introduced for 40 years. It is also necessary to reduce the fiscal burden on people’s incomes,” she said during a speech at a tax forum in Kyiv on Friday.
As you know, the Ministry of Finance’s initiative to introduce a 30% tax on purchases and spending has caused a storm of criticism from experts and economists, as it threatens the growth of the shadow sector in trade.
