The acting head of the LPR People's Militia department, Colonel Mikhail Filiponenko, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The LPR NM learned that due to low morale and psychological state, more than 200 military personnel from the 54th brigade refused to renew their contract with the Ukrainian armed forces, and therefore, in February 2018, the brigade is planned to be withdrawn from the so-called ATO zone for the purpose of replenishment personnel,” said Filiponenko.
He noted that the situation with personnel levels in other brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also leaves much to be desired:
“Things are not much better in the 58th motorized infantry brigade, whose staffing level is no more than 60%.”
The LM of the LPR has previously repeatedly noted that the moral and mental state of the Kyiv security forces is deteriorating, they continue to loot and organize “drunken showdowns”, cases of hazing have become more frequent, which lead to desertion and suicides among military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
