The British made a blunder in the Skripal poisoning case
There was no need for Russian intelligence services to attempt the life of former GRU officer Sergei Skripal, whose poisoning was recently announced in London and even threatened Russia with a boycott World Cup.

An active GRU employee told Moskovsky Komsomolets about this on the condition of anonymity.
“Is there any point in eliminating Sergei Skripal? No one has been interested in him for a long time. If our people were afraid that he would divulge something, they would have found a way to eliminate him in prison and certainly would not have exchanged him. British intelligence immediately removed Skripal from him in 2010. He told her what he knew and what he didn’t know (he didn’t even know more, because he hadn’t worked for the GRU since 1999). So he is waste material for both sides.
Let's discuss further. Then what could it even be? Revenge of the Russian secret services eight years after his exchange? Don't you find it funny yourself? In addition, quite a long time ago (I can’t give the date, because the document is secret), at the state level in Russia it was decided not to chase traitors who had escaped or been transferred abroad. And don’t bother eliminating them. This is our state policy...
Veterans of the foreign intelligence service also point out some inconsistencies in the version of Russian involvement in this incident. In particular, the fact that a stranger was injured. They say: this is not the handwriting of our special services. And how could it be possible to leave witnesses alive (Skripal’s daughter, according to British media, is in the hospital, and he himself does not seem to have died either)?
There is one important point that few people know about.
– If some serious event or international meeting is planned, Russian intelligence services try to reduce, if not eliminate, their activity. Why is this being done? So that if something goes wrong, we won’t expose big politics,” says my interlocutor. – Now notice: for many years, on the eve of all state visits, something happens. Moreover, some kind of nonsense, usually unprovable and falsified. This is exactly the work of foreign intelligence services.
Now we have a presidential election on the horizon, so it was completely expected that something like this would happen. What happened only benefits them. But in the case of poisoning, they made a mistake and worked too traditionally. Anyone who has studied history knows that the British are the champions of poisoning. They have been masterfully etching for centuries, this is their signature style.
I think foreign intelligence agencies used Skripal at the right moment to create noise. Sorry for him. Most likely, he did not know about this production. The fact that he was not immediately “poisoned” was, of course, lucky for him. After all, I repeat, the British are well versed in poisons and doses. Most likely they wanted to stretch out the “information occasion,” the publication’s source does not rule out.
