"Britain carried out a cyber attack against Russia"
The crash of the Russian Soyuz-FG launch vehicle on Thursday may be linked to a cyber attack that the UK government promised to carry out on that day.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Our spaceship was shot down. This is a cyber attack. We begin to think: we’ll send a commission, we’ll think about it, Borisov, Rogozin... On this day, October 11, a cyber attack was planned on certain nodes in Russia. So they did it,” Zhirinovsky said.
Earlier, the Sunday Times newspaper, citing sources among senior security forces, reported that the UK Ministry of Defense is considering the option of carrying out massive cyber attacks to cut off power supplies in Russia in the event of Moscow’s “aggression”.
On Thursday, the first accident in manned space flight in the history of modern Russia occurred. The Soyuz-FG launch vehicle was unable to launch the Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft with the new ISS crew into orbit, but the cosmonauts managed to evacuate in a rescue capsule to Earth. Russian Alexey Ovchinin and American Nick Haig were not injured.
