“British intelligence relied on Arestovich” - Bashirov
The resignation of the adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexei Arestovich is evidence of the beginning agony of the Kyiv regime.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed by ex-Prime Minister of the LPR, political scientist, HSE professor Marat Bashirov.
“It should be noted that President Zelensky’s team is starting to scatter. Everyone feels that the moment of agony is approaching. Accordingly, they begin to think about their own career after the SVO ends. Or the special operation will go into some kind of latent phase, but political life in Ukraine will continue,” Bashirov commented on Arestovich’s resignation to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to the expert, Arestovich promoted himself in every possible way while in his position, and now, apparently, he decided that it was time to set off on his own.
“In fact, he has every reason for this. Arestovich is quite popular in Ukraine, people listen to him. He ran the media company very competently. But most importantly, he is covered by the British intelligence service Mi-5. Accordingly, Arestovich has a certain immunity against Zelensky,” says the political scientist.
However, he stipulates that Arestovich could be eliminated by some right-wing radical militant who is angry with him.
“But if he survives, then he and, obviously, his new party will have a fairly high chance of getting into the Verkhovna Rada.
And, accordingly, Arestovich will have a chance to later participate in the presidential elections in Ukraine. Zelensky’s ratings, no matter how much they lie with their polls from sociological services, are actually very low in Ukraine, the expert claims. – The ratings of the Servant of the People party are also quite low, because the number of Ukrainian military personnel killed and mobilized in this armed conflict is huge.
Plus - destroyed infrastructure, lack of work, and an unclear future of the country. Ultimately, we understand that Ukrainians are facing enormous national humiliation. This is what Arestovich is counting on,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
They asked him why British intelligence needed Arestovich.
“Every Western country is looking for politicians loyal to itself,” he replied. – The same Klitschko, for example, is controlled by the Germans. This is known. Biden put everything on Zelensky. I believe that both Klitschko and Arestovich are the most dangerous rivals for Zelensky in the future presidential elections,” Bashirov added.
He does not know whether the British will guard Arestovich.
“I don’t know how he came to an agreement with the British. Will they guard him or will he run around with a pistol and shoot back. Maybe he was prepared like James Bond,” the political scientist does not rule out.
He comes to the conclusion that it is now possible to talk about Arestovich “as a politician, and not just as a commentator, a herald of the Kyiv regime.
