"British gentlemen fell under the bad influence of a Russian girl"
In the animated series “Masha and the Bear,” it is the bear who behaves like Putin, showing everyone the true essence of modern Russia – strong and patient.
Deputy Elena Yampolskaya stated this during a meeting of the State Duma, assessing the scandal surrounding the recent accusations on the pages of the British newspaper The Times cartoon “Masha and the Bear” in Russian propaganda, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The other day we were very pleased with British experts. Apparently, this will soon become the same meme as the “British scientists” who reported that the Russian animated series “Masha and the Bear” poses a danger to the British kingdom,” Yampolskaya noted.
However, in her opinion, British experts were mistaken, because in the well-known animated series it is not Masha who behaves “like Putin,” but the “strong and very patient Bear.”
She also noted that this cartoon is one of the five most recognizable in Europe and is very popular among viewers.
“And all of them, according to the gentlemen from the Times newspaper, have fallen under the bad influence of a girl who “behaves like Putin and takes on too much.” In my personal opinion, the bear in this cartoon behaves more like Putin - very strong and very patient. Taking on a lot is generally in our national character. I don’t know where Europe would be now if at one time the Russians had not taken on too much and endured it all,” the deputy added.
She also noted that based on the claims made against Masha and the Bear, it is easy to understand how Russia appears to the modern Western consciousness.
“And this is a very good image, actually. Charming, smart, decisive, economical, inquisitive, tireless, emancipated, of course, but at the same time deeply rooted in tradition. But the main thing is that it has tamed a very serious force. This power helps us overcome mistakes, lovingly protects us, protects us from troubles. Each of us can call this force differently, but I very much suspect that it is the patronage of this force by Russia that angers our Western “friends and partners” so much. And “Masha and the Bear” is just an excuse. And we should not be angry because of this and should not be offended, as Masha says, “this is not the king’s business,” Yampolskaya summed up.
