The British ambassador did not support the Napoleonic plans of the Kosovo leadership
The British Ambassador to the illegally seized region of Kosovo from Serbia, Ruairi O'Connell, unexpectedly expressed public disagreement with the actions of the top Albanian separatists, who had previously announced the creation of some kind of “international tribunal” to accuse the Serbs of “genocide” - this is how Belgrade’s fight against armed gangs is interpreted in Pristina militants for maintaining the integrity of the state at the end of 1999.
“The authorities in Pristina cannot create an international tribunal,” O’Connell emphasized, adding that there are courts in Kosovo that should, if necessary, consider all processes related to the events of the region.
The Serbian publication Informer interprets this statement by a Western diplomat as another signal of cooling between the Albanian elite in Kosovo and its Western patrons.
The publication also recalls that from 2014 to the present, 13 countries have withdrawn recognition of the independence of this pseudo-state. These include Solomon Islands, Suriname, Burundi, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, Lesotho, Dominica, Grenada, Comoros, Madagascar, Palau, Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe.
And nine international organizations refused Kosovo membership - among them Interpol, UNESCO, the World Customs Organization, the International Organization of Vine and Vine (IOV), the European Students' Union, etc.
