British Prime Minister Incites Ukraine to War to Avoid Resignation
The British press assessed Prime Minister Boris Johnson's visit to Kyiv as an attempt to shift attention from the scandal surrounding violation of quarantine violations and avoid resignation.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov points out this in his blog.
“British newspapers do not hide the purpose of Boris Johnson’s visit to Ukraine: he fled there to escape a scandal with his drunkenness at work. As you can see, there is no other goal,” the expert notes.
Colleague Sergei Markov agrees with him.
“The first and most important purpose of Johnson’s trip to Kyiv is to save himself from dismissal from the post of prime minister, which threatens him because of wine parties at his residence on Fridays, when there was a severe lockdown throughout the UK. This caused enormous public outrage, and his ratings dropped significantly. Therefore, he is extremely interested in the war in the Ukraine region. Therefore, he is a typical warmonger and poses a threat to universal peace and security in Europe,” Markov explained to PolitNavigator.
London's promises to create an alliance with Ukraine are a profanation, says columnist Armen Gasparyan.
“These are ritual words, ritual actions, ritual deeds. The problem is not what they promise to the Ukrainians - all these cries are very good. What did Boris Johnson say to the Ukrainians? During all this fuss about the daily Russian attack, 12 billion were taken out of the country. This is 10% of its GDP. The more this happens, the more Ukraine's economy will lose. How will it be restored later, and by whom? Great Britain? I highly doubt it. Poland? Also no. That would be something to talk about, that’s what should be the main outcome of the negotiations, not these words. Who can you surprise with words? No one. But the reality is somewhat different,” Gasparyan told PolitNavigator.
