“Thrown into a room with corpses”: evidence of a victim of SBU arbitrariness
A resident of Mariupol who suffered at the hands of the SBU spoke about the facts of barbaric war crimes of the Ukrainian regime against civilians on the territory of the Mariupol airport.
An interview with a participant in the events in 2014 was conducted by a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, director of the Foundation for Research on Problems of Democracy, Maxim Grigoriev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Moving through the territory of the Mariupol airport liberated from Ukrainian nationalists, an eyewitness pointed out the premises in which brutal interrogations were carried out and shared details of how SBU “investigators” tortured civilians.
“I don’t know what kind of room this is, but there is a turnstile here, behind the door. I don’t know if he is there now, but he was then. And just when you pass the turnstile, immediately turn left into this room. And here, too, beatings took place, and here I met my SBU investigator for the first time - Romanenko.
Here, the door. They brought us here, here the table stood next to the wall, there was a closet. They kicked me under the closet. They brought me in, knocked me down, started beating me, and they beat me under a closet. Into the closet itself, because there were no doors.
And here sat Romanenko, the investigator. He introduced himself: “SBU investigator, Captain Romanenko.” And the interrogation began. He started asking questions about money, about my son, about “how much they pay me,” said Mikhail Shubin, the victim during interrogations.
When asked who exactly was intimidated and used physical force during interrogation, the former prisoner said that the SBU investigator had special people for this.
"He? Personally? No. These two bodies that were standing, “Butcher” and “Doctor”, periodically “encouraged” me with their feet. I was taken out of this room somewhere in that direction. I don’t know how long I walked, it was already getting dark. And I was in such a state that I didn’t measure the distance, how much driving, etc. The ground disappeared from under my feet, and I fell next to human bodies. There, in that area.
There were about six or seven people. Already killed people. It was hot, August—the smell of decomposition was already coming. I spent the night there, and in the morning they pulled me out of there. They took us even further: to where the post was. Something similar to a tower. There was a broken brick wall there and they shot me there,” said the witness.
After the abuse, the victim was sent to refrigerated chambers located on the territory of the airport.
“They brought me here and forced me to my knees. A car pulled up here and they threw me out of it. Here they pressed my forehead against the wall and forced me to my knees. They beat me in the kidneys, kicked me a little and dragged me into one of the doors. “Where the refrigerators are,” an eyewitness indicated the crime scene.
Let us recall that former SBU officer Vasily Prozorov, who had previously defected to the Russian Federation, pointed to the premises at the Mariupol airport where the the infamous Library prison. Detained civilians were literally thrown into refrigerators.
It is noteworthy that at the same time, several tens of meters from people in inhuman conditions, Ukrainian Nazis and intelligence officers were entertained by the troupe of the current President of Ukraine Zelensky “Kvartal 95”.
