This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by Ukrainian political expert Pavel Karnazytsky, according to whom no one takes Ukraine seriously today, since it “has demonstrated its complete inability to negotiate.”
“This is what the scandal with the Ukrainian air defense exercises showed: no one takes Ukrainian saber-rattling seriously anymore. Russia, out of laziness, issued a note of protest - there is no point in saber-rattling at our borders, but no one tried to take any further international decisions. In Ukraine, of course, they created a big scandal that Russia is dissatisfied,” the political scientist noted.
“But Russia is unhappy that the issue of Crimea’s ownership is still being discussed,” added Karnazytsky. – And the Ukrainian desire to conduct exercises in the airspace over Crimea, of course, caused concern on the part of Russia. Moreover, considering that Soviet air defense systems were also used in the exercises. And we remember that in the hands of non-professionals they can behave unpredictably. They could not only Simferopol, but also bomb a couple of other cities, because they simply don’t know how to use it.”
