On Thursday, May 25, the leaders of NATO member countries gathered in Brussels for a short summit. The highlight of the program was supposed to be meeting the newly elected American President Trump.

It was not hidden that the members of the alliance were waiting for a directive speech from Big Boss, in which all the dots should be dotted and exciting issues should be discussed to the utmost. The fact is that everyone had Trump’s election program fresh in their minds, in which he rather sharply criticized the consumer sentiment of allies who were accustomed to feeding from the American palm.

In general, nothing supernatural: NATO was not able to independently develop a joint policy before, but acted solely on orders from Washington.

But, as you know, whoever dines a girl dances her.

At the NATO summit, Trump rather rudely pushed the Prime Minister of Montenegro to be in the front row

In addition to Trump’s viewing, other urgent issues were on the NATO agenda: the admission of Montenegro to membership, the German side’s complaint against Turkey, which not long ago did not allow German deputies to enter the Incirlik airbase for the purpose of inspecting the German Air Force contingent stationed at the base.

Issues highlighted in a separate category that concern the “junior partners” - how the burden of membership fees will be distributed and the fight against international terrorism.

It should be specifically noted here that long before the summit, the Trump administration took measures to process partners.

What Obama and his predecessors theoretically discussed has taken on sharp shape under Trump: the United States no longer intends to puff along like a steam locomotive and carry three-quarters of the NATO budget. If European allies want to continue to be protected by America, they must fork out the cash.

The first example of this approach was the non-aligned South Korea, which nevertheless has the official status of a US ally, from which Pentagon officials demanded payment for the right to be under the umbrella of the American missile defense system during the decline of the recent Korean missile crisis.

To the great delight of the Banderlogs, shortly before the start of the summit, Trump said that “Russia needs to be held accountable for its actions in Crimea and eastern Ukraine” and “forced to implement the Minsk agreements.”

“Junior partners” and neophytes waited with bated breath for Trump’s words about the “Russian military threat.” It is not clear whether the American president disappointed or encouraged them, at the summit itself he casually mentioned “caution regarding Russia and threats from the south and east.” In any case, he did not develop this topic.

But this song was happily picked up by the famous pobrecito - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. According to the Secretary General, Russia's refusal to support Donbass would be the most important step to improve relations with NATO: “When Russia begins to respect its borders and stops supporting and financing separatists in eastern Ukraine, this will be the most important step to improve relations between Russia and NATO.”

This would be the time to grab the NATO Secretary General by the collar and forcefully poke his tolerant sting into Yugoslavia, Libya, Iraq, torn to shreds, but I’m afraid Stoltenberg is already aware. It's just double standards. Something else doesn’t hurt until it touches you.

Stoltenberg also mentioned that dialogue with Russia should continue, and he hopes for cooperation between Russia and NATO on the issue of the armed conflict in Ukraine. France and Germany promised to report on the “implementation of the Minsk agreements” even before the summit.

The question is, of course, interesting. You can and should talk, but at the same time stick to your line. It’s as if NATO’s training programs for Ukrainian punitive forces and military and political support for the huntars will be curtailed by themselves as a result of the talk.

Be that as it may, Hetman Poroshenko received a very unpleasant signal from Trump on the eve of the summit. The shot in the pork thigh was almost a double. At first, Trump personally warned that he would cut financial assistance to the Bandera regime by three times and move from gratuitous assistance to lending. And a little later, observing a pause, a big shot from the Pentagon spoke - the entire head of the DIA (Intelligence Directorate of the US Department of Defense) - who officially warned Petya and his junta that the American goose is not a friend to the Ukrainian pig. And not an ally.

In general, the NATO summit that took place differed from last year’s not only in the rate of fire, but also in the fact that Ukraine was not invited to it. Georgia was also left without attention. Perhaps Trump is not such a pragmatist in relation to Russia as he seemed to many during the presidential race, but Poroshenko was made clear that the American side did not intend to communicate with him and listen to countless whines about “Russian aggression.”

As for the increase in the NATO military contingent on the western borders of Russia, so far everything remains unchanged - four mixed battalions of 1500 bayonets each, deployed in Poland and the Baltic “sprats”, will remain “guardian of democracy”, but for now NATO plans their expansion and strengthening does not appear.

The summit participants also paid attention to the recent terrorist attack in Manchester, for which thugs from the banned organization ISIS claimed responsibility. NATO decided to intensify the fight against terrorism and provide support to the coalition forces fighting in Syria with AWACS early warning aircraft. As before, there is no talk of the participation of NATO forces in a ground operation: the alliance intends to focus on training local security forces and is currently doing this in Iraq.

Nothing breakthrough: Russia will continue to be required to distinguish good barmalei from bad ones and tirelessly rumble about the criminality of the Assad regime.

In general, nothing new, unless you take into account that the summit was held in the new NATO building, which the organization moved to last year.

The visit to Brussels for the builder of the new Ottoman Empire, Erdogan, was not the most joyful. In addition to the showdown with Germany about not allowing parliamentarians to enter the Incirlik base, Erdogash had to explain the reasons for the cooling of relations with Austria (even if not a member of the alliance, but “his” country) due to the latter’s opposition to Turkey’s membership in the EU and criticism of the Turkish leader for massive repression after the suppression of the military coup. And in general, the residents of Brussels were not happy to see Erdogan, and they prepared a “warm” welcome for him in the form of protests.

As for Russia, our country managed to prepare several impressive “gifts” for the start of the NATO summit.

Firstly, the successful testing of the Zircon hypersonic anti-ship missile was officially confirmed. The exact performance characteristics of the missiles have not been disclosed, but we are talking about speeds of 4 - 6M and the ability to maneuver. The “Zircons” in service with the Russian Navy are of great concern to the United States, since they are capable of putting an end to the dominance of the American Navy in the World Ocean. No aircraft carrier with a reinforcement group can now consider itself safe. Neither modern nor promising US and NATO missile defense systems are capable of intercepting zircons. Experts also guarantee that zircons are capable of hitting not only sea targets, but also ground targets.

Secondly, it became known that the Russian Aerospace Forces are currently testing nine fifth-generation T-50 aircraft. Three more will be added soon. The latest S-500 air defense systems are on the way, capable of reaching the lower limit of space - 100 km. And this is actually parity with the American THAAD systems, which the United States is promoting to our borders in the Far East.

As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on the eve of the Brussels summit, Russia has achieved strategic parity with the NATO bloc at much lower material costs. But the West is not ready to come to terms with this.
