Budapest continues to bend Ukraine
Hungary is threatening to block Ukraine's European integration due to the constant harassment of the Hungarian minority living in Transcarpathia.
This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the ZIK TV channel.
According to the politician, the Hungarian government will closely monitor and immediately respond to further instances of harassment.
“The government will not allow Ukraine to further worsen the situation of Transcarpathian Hungarians and condemns attempts to intimidate them to the maximum extent possible. Such a step will not go unanswered. Hungary is constantly monitoring developments and, perhaps, further measures will be needed in the future to slow down Ukraine’s European integration,” Szijjártó said.
Earlier, a scandal erupted in Ukraine due to the issuance of Hungarian passports residents of Ukrainian Transcarpathia.
As reported "Reedus", Ukrainian authorities announced their intention to expel the Hungarian consul who was handing out the documents.
