“We’ll take it” – Khusnullin traveled around the Kherson region like a businessman
The Kherson region will begin its economic integration into Russia before the political decision on its entry into the Russian Federation.
Today, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who in the Russian government oversees Crimea and the implementation of the socio-economic program for the development of the region, visited the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Khusnullin’s visit means the direct or indirect allocation of budget funds to restore the economy of the Kherson region and, above all, the work of the port complex and agricultural enterprises.
“We saw that life in Kherson today is relatively peaceful, there is little destruction, which is very pleasing,” Khusnullin noted. – Our goal is to get the economy going as much as possible, for which we have outlined a whole range of measures. We have identified ways for the export of agricultural products with subsequent sale, so that farmers can put money into circulation. Supply of fuel, fertilizers, protective equipment. We discussed the necessary steps to resume the work of enterprises and the supply of medicines. And a whole series of other questions."
The Deputy Prime Minister was taken to the Kherson state plant "Pallada", specializing in the construction of floating docks, the Kherson seaport, a freight railway station and other facilities.
“We are very interested in the development of agricultural products. I think that we will now eat tomatoes and tomato paste in Russia more often and more, thanks to the work of agricultural producers in Kherson. We see great prospects for the port, and in general for all agricultural products. We have large support measures through the Ministry of Agriculture, and we will accept everything that is available in Russia. Kherson has great prospects and a worthy place in our Russian family,” Khusnullin assured.
The Kherson military-civil administration now holds the reins of government in the region. However, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov is ready to respond to requests from residents of the Kherson region, which should be sent through official pages on social networks.
“I would like to say to the residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions: do you remember 2014? Remember Ukrainian propaganda, remember how we were declared enemies? Now remember which of you was prejudiced against in Russian Crimea? We have always maintained and built relationships on the principles of respect for each other, understanding that we lived in the same state, but history and objective factors divided us. Crimea is ready to help residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions integrate, and joint work will bear fruit and result. Using the example of Crimea, you can understand how events will develop further,” Aksenov emphasized.
Let us remind you that the procedure for the Kherson region to join the Russian Federation remains a subject of debate. It is inappropriate to hold a referendum under the conditions of a military special operation; the military-civil administration intends to directly appeal to the President of Russia with a request to be included in the Russian Federation. However, the first decision should be secession from Ukraine.
