We’ll pick on the West’s brains until they increase arms supplies – ex-Rada deputy
Western countries are already beginning to wonder when the Ukrainian walkers who storm with endless visits begging for weapons will begin to say something intelligible about reforms and the responsibilities they have assumed after receiving EU candidate status.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former head of the parliamentary committee on international affairs Anna Gopko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The former deputy complained from the start about heavy losses during the latest counter-offensives, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly carried out almost with their bare hands.
“A question for our Western partners: do they have a real strategy for a quick victory for Ukraine? Is there a strategy regarding the Russian Federation – the defeat of totalitarianism? The answer to these questions is the reality of whether the pace and scale of arms supplies at this level are capable of providing the people who are now on the battlefield with the most modern equipment.
Because the fighting spirit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, when we launched a successful counter-offensive with minimal resources, let’s speak frankly. We are paying a very high price for success in reconquering our territories,” Gopko said.
According to her, we need to work “day and night” to convince the West to increase arms supplies.
“On the issue of weapons, we are already receiving some criticism, why civil society, when coming to Washington, Brussels or Paris, or Berlin, does not talk about reforms, does not talk about priorities after candidate status, but focuses on weapons.
Some of us have already become the best weapons experts, we took pilots to Washington, now there was a delegation of Ukrainian Amazon girls, we visited Tyra to talk about the horrors of captivity and why it is important to recognize Russian actions as genocide, Russia as a sponsor state terrorism, as well as future confiscations.
So I would like us to focus on how to persuade the West to speed up military victory for the benefit of our Western partners as well. And here there is a question in general so that countries that are weapons producers - Britain, Sweden, South Korea, the USA, or those who have weapons, but are delaying deliveries - still speed it up,” demanded the ex- deputy
