“We will repel Biden’s attacks”: Russia does not abandon Nord Stream 2
Russia will continue to explore possibilities for the speedy completion of the Nord Stream 2 project, which no other alternative routes can compare with.
The head of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, Leonid Slutsky, stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Nord Stream 2, we must work in the same direction as we worked before. This corresponds to the interests of the population of those countries through which Nord Stream 2 passes. This is a clearly verified position by us,” said Slutsky.
He stressed that new attacks on the gas pipeline under construction can soon be expected, but Russia is ready to repel them.
“Until SP-2 is fully operational, they will try to marginalize it, dramatize it, and the like. We are waiting for them, this is no longer a surprise for us. Therefore, we are ready in the political part of the spectrum to repel these attacks, no matter how serious they may seem. They may come, among other things, from Biden. But our task is to implement this strategic macro-project in the interests of the people themselves, in the interests of their warmth, their lives.
And any alternatives, and they exist, cannot be compared with Nord Stream 2. Therefore, we will always and in any situation explore the possibilities of completing this project as quickly as possible,” added the head of the committee.
