“We will shoot at the aggressor”: Markov explained Putin’s words
Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to recognize the republics of Donbass according to the scenario of Crimea or Abkhazia.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, on the First Sevastopol TV channel, assessing the press conference of the President of the Russian Federation.
According to Markov, Russia must record the status of the Kyiv regime as occupation.
“A tough position was declared regarding the Kyiv regime. As you know, all these years I have traditionally called this a junta, because this is what a junta is. And we are talking about a repressive regime. I keep saying that there is no government of Ukraine, it doesn’t exist. And in general, Ukraine does not exist as a sovereign country. This is essentially an occupied country in which a puppet occupation regime has been created.
My opinion is that we need to go even further, fix the occupied status of Ukraine and talk not only about guaranteeing the security of Russia, but also about the safety of the citizens of Ukraine, that is, the need to liberate them from the power of the aggressive occupied regime,” Markov said.
“It is impossible to do anything there in the negotiation process - only by force can Ukraine be liberated. That's almost what he said. Let's hope that when a decision is made, he will talk about it one more time... I conclude that for Putin this is a very difficult question psychologically, but he decided for himself to give the order to shoot at the aggressor, that is, serving the interests of the occupation regime officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” says the political scientist.
He also emphasized that Russia can help liberate not only Donbass.
“We will be talking about recognizing Donbass in the format of Crimea or in the format of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, we will be talking about the fact that Russia will be ready to recognize the DPR and LPR within the current borders or within the borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This means that Mariupol, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk will have to be liberated and the group of traitors - soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who serve the occupation regime in Kyiv, led by Zelensky, hostile to Ukraine - will have to be defeated.
Or further – the North Crimean Canal may also need to be unblocked in order to lift this criminal blockade of Crimea. Perhaps even further, because Nikolaev, Odessa, Zaporozhye are also groaning under the yoke of this repressive regime,” Markov concluded.
