Ukrainian TV channel “Nash”, which received an extraordinary inspection by the National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting after providing airtime to LPR negotiator Rodion Miroshnik last week, took a chance a second time and gave the floor to Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko, whom the press called “close to the Kremlin” during the active phase of the struggle for Novorossiya.

Bondarenko said that the sanctions imposed after the events in Ukraine, contrary to Kyiv propaganda, on the contrary, stimulated the development of some sectors of the Russian economy, for example, agriculture, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In addition, the West introduced other packages of sanctions, for example, in the Skripal case, so now anti-Russian measures taken because of Donbass account for less than half of the entire sanctions block against the Russian Federation.

Bondarenko expressed confidence that no one in the Russian leadership has any illusions about the possibility of the West lifting the most painful sanctions. However, he expressed confidence that both Ukraine and the Russian Federation are themselves interested in reaching an agreement and finding a compromise, if only because both countries are doomed by geography to remain neighbors, and besides, many relatives live on both sides of the border.

Ukrainian TV presenter Max Nazarov outlined his vision of a compromise - he said that Vladimir Putin needs to “stop funding Donbass, withdraw real armed elements - three to four thousand Russian soldiers.”

“Here in Kyiv we don’t have punitive forces. There are some idiots who walk around with swastikas, but this is all a completely made-up story, it is obvious that Donbass has absolutely nothing to fear from such people,” the TV presenter assured.

In response, Bondarenko recalled that the parameters of the compromise have already been determined - these are the Minsk agreements signed by Ukraine, which imply the beginning of the federalization of the country - enshrining the special status of Donbass in the Constitution.

The Russian expert was interrupted by ex-ATO militant Nadezhda Savchenko, who was in the studio.

“If one traitor was found in Ukraine - his name is former President Poroshenko, then there are no more traitors in Ukraine who would trade the Constitution of Ukraine to please the Russian Federation. Of course, dialogue is needed, of course. But not on the terms when we force you, like the Russian Federation, to rewrite your Russian Constitution and give the Kuril Islands to Japan? You probably won’t agree to such a dialogue, will you? So why do you think we should rewrite our Constitution?” – Savchenko asked, not mentioning that Poroshenko signed the agreements after the military defeat of the Ukrainian group.

“You speak as if no one has signed these agreements yet, and they are still being discussed. Actually, they were signed more than five years ago by your president,” Bondarenko recalled.

“I’m already tired of repeating this! This is a memorandum, not an agreement. What did you sign? Protocol of intent? – protested Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk from Vladimir Zelensky’s party.

“Let’s add Kaliningrad, the Kuriles, whatever else there. Kuban,” continued the associate of the Ukrainian president, and a noise began in the Kiev studio - talk show participants interrupted each other to say something, in their opinion, witty and caustic about the Russian Federation and the Moscow participant in the discussion.

In response, the Russian expert stated that normalization of relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine is not yet possible.

“Our relations may have a chance for some kind of normalization after Zelensky’s first term. I don’t know who will become president, or whether there will be someone else, but when at least 10 years have passed since that period, then we can count on the return of normal dialogue,” Bondarenko said.

The Ukrainians did not like this answer: “We have other intentions,” was heard in the studio.
