“It will only get worse”: Lukashenko will remain an enemy of Russia and Russians – Strelkov
Russia should not expect an improvement in the situation in Belarus under the current president of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko. At the same time, if the pro-Western opposition comes to power, it will only get worse - Belarus will repeat the Ukrainian scenario.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this on the Internet channel Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Lukashenko is a crafty, roguish half-enemy. Belarusian partisans fighting under the white and red flag are our enemies. Therefore, no matter how much I despise Lukashenko, I have something to despise him for, including the fact that he created the opportunity for the emergence of so-called Belarusian partisans, speaking from the position of a separate people against Russia in fact.
I try to refrain from criticizing Lukashenko at the moment. Although, I emphasize once again, everything that is happening now is the work of his hands. And no measures that he is taking now, and he is taking half measures, as always, will ultimately correct the situation.
Yes, he, apparently, will be able to hold on to power for a long time, but then it will only get worse for the Belarusians, and for Russia’s relations with Belarus, and, most importantly, so far there are no prospects in this situation that are positive for Russia, for the Russians. I see it in general, and this is the biggest tragedy.
And what will happen if such white-red nationalists win, Vyrus, as they say, Ukraine will be number two with all the charms,” Strelkov said.
