“There will be a war with Ukraine.” Kyiv politician explained Putin's words
If earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin announced, now he is already drawing a “red line”, beyond which serious problems await Kyiv.
The founder of the Union of Left Forces party, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation, Vasily Volga, spoke about this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are already accustomed to harsh statements on the eve of the meeting of the leaders of the countries. Just look at Biden’s statement on the eve of his meeting with Putin that he will teach him a lesson and so on. Even Zelensky makes such statements, declaring Biden a weakling because of Nord Stream 2 and the US refusal to impose sanctions on companies that complete work on it. And now the United States and Russia are making demonstrative statements regarding each other on the eve of the leaders’ meeting.
The only thing I would draw attention to in Putin’s statement is that, in his opinion, there is some kind of agreement between Ukraine and the United States that, after all, the goal of NATO’s ongoing offensive to the east is for Ukraine to join NATO no matter what . This is worth paying special attention to. Here Putin announces the “red line”, which he warned about during his last speech before the Federal Assembly.
Now he is drawing this “red line”. 8 minutes of flight time to any major center of Russia is too much. He says: “You should know that I know that you want to suddenly announce Ukraine’s entry into NATO, know that this will mean a war between Russia and Ukraine, and, by and large, between Russia and NATO for security territory, for protection of Russia’s national interests,” Volga said.
