In particular, the Evgeniy Vilinsky, deputy head of the military-civil administration appointed by Kiev, Pavel Zhebrivsky, was indignant on his Facebook page.
“Another moment of truth. Is the expectation of our strategic partner, like this, “We expect that in Mariupol and other areas where voting did not take place, people will have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote on November 15,” more important than democratic procedures and compliance with the law?” he wrote.
“This is exactly how the question of elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmeysk stands today. Will our politicians learn to defend the national interest, sometimes in spite of diplomatic pressure?” added the Ukrainian official, annoyed with America.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kirby also said that local elections in Ukraine reflect the will of the Ukrainian people, and Ukrainian democracy remains stable. He noted that the United States is looking forward to a successful runoff election on November 15, “in those mayoral elections where no candidate received a majority of the votes.”
