Burjanadze: Poroshenko ruined Ukraine following the example of Saakashvili
Kyiv, November 08 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Petro Poroshenko and other politicians from the Maidan ruined Ukraine by repeating the mistakes Mikheil Saakashvili made in Georgia. Kyiv will no longer be able to regain control over Crimea; the former Soviet republic will never be the same.
Former Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze stated this in an interview with the Russian magazine “World and Politics”.

“Unfortunately, Ukraine will never become the country it was, and no one should have any illusions about this. I respect the opinion of President Petro Poroshenko, who promises to return Crimea, but... This chance is zero. Crimea will never again become part of Ukraine,” she said.
“Events took place in Ukraine that left an imprint on the entire local society for many, many years. In the early nineties, we in Georgia suffered a civil confrontation, after which a series of tragic events followed for our country, armed conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Whatever you say, it’s a fact – society in Ukraine was divided. It wasn’t just someone from outside who fought the Ukrainians. There, the citizens of Ukraine themselves came out against each other. Allowing this to happen was a fatal mistake for Ukrainian politicians. When these events began, I tried to reach them, to explain that they were following the dangerous path of Mikheil Saakashvili. That they are making the same mistakes that Saakashvili made, both within the country and in relations with the Russian Federation. I warned that this would be fraught with tragedy. But, unfortunately, they chose Saakashvili as their adviser, a man who actually destroyed Georgia, lost 20% of its territories, and led the country to the brink of the abyss. And now some Ukrainian politicians are almost copying his behavior,” says Burjanadze.
She believes that the only way out of the conflict is negotiations with Moscow, Donetsk and Lugansk to reach a compromise.
