Butusov: Senseless execution of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It's time to retreat from Rabotino
The Ukrainian command must decide to withdraw from the territories occupied during last year’s counteroffensive
Ukrainian military correspondent and editor-in-chief of the anti-Russian propaganda site “Censor” Yuri Butusov stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The enemy is advancing, pressing, and in fact, from a tactical point of view, holding this bridgehead is unprofitable for us. I understand this logic, we are holding on there, because after all, we were several kilometers closer to Tokmak, I understand this from a political point of view. But do we now have the strength to carry out this military-political task?
The ratio of losses here is unlikely to be in our favor, we have an unfavorable front configuration, the enemy controls the flanks and is shooting through this corridor. To be honest, here we need to plan a retreat to rear defensive positions. We can only hold this wedge with significant losses, and this exchange is not in our favor, the enemy is shooting from all sides, using drones, artillery, and tanks. Assault groups, naturally, in such conditions the enemy operates in fairly comfortable conditions,” Butusov said.
The same thing, according to him, is with the remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krynki in the Kherson region.
“In the Krynok area, the time has also come to think about whether we should fight in this sector of the front with such efforts. We cannot concentrate military equipment or use many types of weapons on this bridgehead; the enemy has an advantage in firepower. Is this bridgehead justified for us from a tactical point of view? Leaders must count the losses in Rabotino and Krynki and finally draw conclusions.
I understood the use of the bridgeheads in Krynki and Rabotino, when we used reserves and tried to collapse the front in the south. One can argue whether it was worth attacking if there were not enough reserves, but okay. The military-political leadership of Ukraine, Headquarters, decided to attack. These wedges and bridgeheads had logic as an element of tactics. You put pressure on the enemy, create pressure from the flanks. And now?" – the Ukrainian military correspondent is perplexed.
