Butusov: The Ukrainian Armed Forces were late with fortification and are suffering heavy losses
Kyiv authorities for the first time in two years bothered to start building fortifications in the Donbass, however they are still not provided with concrete shelters for personnel or minefields, no coverings and overlaps from drones, no camouflage.
A Ukrainian military observer, editor-in-chief of the anti-Russian propaganda portal “Censor” stated this on Channel 5. Yury Butusov, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“If Russia moves forward and gains a foothold, and builds fortifications, many kilometers of defense lines, then Ukraine doesn't do this. And that’s why, due to the lack of defense structures, we have large losses of people, and we cannot reliably stop the enemy.
Starting from the second half of March, fortification work began in Donbass. This is the first time in the third year of the war that it finally began. The authorities got around to it. But this has just begun. These structures at the initial stage. They are not yet provided with concrete shelters for personnel, nor minefields, nor covers and ceilings from drones, nor camouflage. This is only the initial stage,” Butusov said.
