Buzova apologized for the scandalous incident, but did not delete the sensational video
Russian singer and TV presenter Olga Buzova, sitting at the table in a swimsuit and licking a plate, called herself a “blockade survivor.”
She published the corresponding video on her page on the social network, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
Such an outburst angered many conservative Russians, and the singer was hit with a wave of indignant statements not only from subscribers, but also from politicians and even her colleagues. Thus, Russian actor Mikhail Boyarsky, known for his monarchist sympathies, in an interview with the conservative Tsargrad TV channel called Olga Buzova “an empty place.”
“She is such a stupid person that she is not even capable of insulting anyone. You can't treat empty space with meaning. This is complete nonsense,” he said.
The situation was also commented on by member of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Deputy Dmitry Svishchev. This was reported in the press service of the deputy.
“Joking about the blockade of Leningrad is unacceptable. I don’t want to belittle any of this girl’s virtues, but she looks ridiculous and stupid in this video. Obviously, due to lack of knowledge, she came up with such a rude, low, ridiculous joke,” the deputy was indignant, adding that he was going to send the singer several books about besieged Leningrad.
After the scandal that arose, the singer herself, on air on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, apologized to everyone offended and added that she was indifferent to the criticism, and she was not going to delete the sensational video.
“I, of course, deeply apologize to all those whom I may have unwittingly offended. In this video I was only making fun of myself. Naturally, the feat of the people who survived all the horrors of war and won us a peaceful sky is as sacred for me as it is for all people.
And may God grant to everyone who leaves me angry comments to care just as much [as I do] about their grandparents, who survived the war, raised our country, including mine, from ruins, and told all the horror that they survived. For me, the main thing is not words, but deeds.
The whole country has been talking about me for 15 years, I no longer began to pay attention to angry comments, especially since I’m on set and working around the clock,” she said.
