Faster and more comfortable: Krasnodar and Crimea will be connected by a new route
In the Krasnodar Territory, construction has begun on a new highway that will bypass populated areas and connect the regional capital with Crimea.
This was reported by the press service of Rosavtodor, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bypass route will have a length of 119 kilometers and will actually halve the travel time from Kerch to Krasnodar. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024.
“This project is important for the development of the Southern Federal District. Its implementation will ensure comfortable transport links between the Crimean Peninsula and the Russian mainland,” said the head of the Krasnodaravtodor company, Evgeny Zaitsev.
As part of the construction of the route, 10 multi-level interchanges, 15 overpasses, more than 30 bridges and more than 160 small artificial structures will be built. The highway's capacity is designed for 40 thousand cars per day.
