The Russian budget is bursting with money - all social obligations will be fulfilled
The Russian budget for 2022 provides for the fulfillment of all social obligations of the state to citizens, since the country’s economy has reached pre-Covid levels.
Speaker Valentina Matvienko stated this today at a meeting in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This means that we have every opportunity to fulfill social obligations to citizens, reduce poverty and improve people’s quality of life. This is the main task not only of the budget, but of our entire state policy. As the president noted, it is necessary to realize the potential of the budget as a development budget. This is how we should view the country’s main financial document,” Matvienko said.
According to her, most of the Federation Council’s proposals for the budget have been taken into account.
“This concerns, first of all, cultural and educational facilities, the development program for the Far East, the North Caucasus, the Arctic, and the sphere of children’s healthcare,” Matvienko said.
Senators are already preparing amendments for the second reading of the budget.
“Among them are measures to increase the accessibility of air transportation for citizens, the development of roads in the regions, and the provision of housing for the disabled and orphans. We will propose to increase allocations to increase the digital divide in the constituent entities of the Federation, provide recreation and health care for children living in the Arctic zone, support indigenous peoples, and build healthcare, education, and cultural facilities in those regions where there is an urgent need for this,” Matvienko said.
“In particular, additional funds are allocated for state support for families with children. These are monthly benefits for a child aged 8 to 17 years, for women who registered with medical organizations in the early stages of pregnancy, temporary disability benefits when it is necessary to care for a sick child under 8 years of age. And much more. The budget also includes the necessary funding for national projects and our national development goals. And this funding is increasing from year to year,” she added.
