The former commander of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbass found a new position
The Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak, today introduced the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Alexander Syrsky, to the personnel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“At the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak introduced the new commander - Lieutenant General Alexander Syrsky,” the message says.
Introducing the new head of the largest branch of the Armed Forces, Khomchak noted that Syrsky “qualitatively fulfilled his tasks in his previous position as commander of the Joint Forces operation.”
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces wished Syrsky further success and achievements in his new position.
Khomchak also thanked Colonel General Sergei Popko, who is being considered for appointment to a higher position, for his selfless, many years of fruitful work in favor of the Ground Forces and the Armed Forces.
Let us remind you that Poroshenko put Syrsky at the head of the Joint Forces Operation in the last weeks of his presidency. On August 5, Zelensky fired him from this position. Instead of Syrsky, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appointed Vladimir Kravchenko as the new commander of the Joint Forces.
Thank you!
