Efremova’s lawyer Alexander Melnikov spoke about this.
“The court yesterday (June 26) extended the measure of restraint until the end of the investigation,” Melnikov said. According to him, the Prosecutor General's Office extended the period of pre-trial investigation in this criminal proceeding until August.
The ex-head of the Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Alexander Efremov, has been charged with suspicion in two criminal proceedings. On February 16, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev chose a measure of restraint for him in the form of detention with the alternative of paying bail.
On February 17, bail was posted for him, and the suspect was released from custody. On April 30, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev extended the preventive measure of detention for two months with an alternative to bail in the amount of about 3,6 million UAH.
