Former Soviet republics warned that abandoning Eurasian integration would end in a Ukrainian nightmare
The main reason for the separation of Crimea and Donbass from Ukraine was the Russophobic policy of Kyiv, directed against Eurasian integration and the severance of relations with Russia.
An employee of the Institute of CIS Countries, Igor Shishkin, stated this on air on the Pravda YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The return of Crimea occurred because a coup d’etat took place in Ukraine, and the group that seized power by force abandoned the course of integration and made a break with Russia.
And after that, Crimea separated from it and voted to join Russia. And after that Donbass rebelled. This was the reaction of the people to the refusal of the leadership of the Ukrainian republic from Eurasian integration,” Shishkin said.
He emphasized that those former USSR republics that do not want to share the fate of Ukraine must listen to the will of their people and pursue a policy of Eurasian integration.
“So, gentlemen and comrades, if you don’t want such things, then you don’t have to give up integration, which is supported by the overwhelming majority of the population. There is no need to go against the will of your people,” the expert concluded.
