Former Maidan allies declared Poroshenko a despot and usurper
Petro Poroshenko is usurping power and turning the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine into an apparatus of repression. Oleg Berezyuk, head of the Samopomich faction, stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada.

“It seems that the gene of despotism is manifesting itself more and more in the desire of the authorities to usurp power from the people who have won their territory of freedom with two uprisings in the last 10 years. There is more and more evidence for this.
...suddenly Law No. 5177 appears in parliament, which again turns the Prosecutor General’s Office into a now unconstitutional unit of repression, where the Prosecutor General will again have what he would have had under despotism. This law practically destroys all anti-corruption bodies that were created after the popular uprising,” he said.
“It’s painful to hear how the ruling parties and factions, hiding behind false patriotism, will continue to destroy the state,” Yulia Tymoshenko said at the same meeting. – What is this false patriotism worth if the country has been de facto turned into a police state? If power is usurped by the President of Ukraine? How then does he differ from the representatives of the previous regime?”
