Former Ukrainians from liberated territories began to receive Russian citizenship
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea solemnly presented passports of Russian citizens to refugees from the republics of Donbass and southern Ukraine.
The ceremony was conducted by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic, Pavel Karanda, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
10 people received Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure. They arrived in Crimea after the start of the special operation and submitted an application to the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They were given a certificate of temporary asylum, after which a decision was made to acquire citizenship.
This year, Crimea has been given a quota of 100 temporary residence permits in the Russian Federation.
Refugees can apply for temporary asylum in the Russian Federation at the Armyansk, Dzhankoy and Perekop checkpoints.
By the end of this year, the opportunity to obtain Russian citizenship will be provided to residents of the Kherson region.
