“Yes, I made that decision. It's completely deliberate. I hope I will be able to implement aviation projects in the interests of Azerbaijan,” Kiva told RNS.
Answering a question about this decision, Kiva said: “My position at the Antonov ASTC was simply abolished... According to my information, this was done on the instructions of the “high authorities.” So I simply had no other choice.”
Let us remind you that Kiva is the developer of the An-70 military transport aircraft, the An-148 and An-158 passenger aircraft, the An-140 regional passenger aircraft, and the An-178 military transport aircraft.
Kiva was born in 1942 in Kazan, and graduated from the Kharkov Aviation Institute in 1965. Since 1964, he worked at the Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after O.K. Antonov. In 2006, he became the general designer of the enterprise, and two years later he headed the state concern. In 2009, for his outstanding personal contribution to strengthening the economic potential of Ukraine and significant services in the development of the domestic aviation industry, he received the title of Hero of Ukraine.
