Former Prosecutor General: Instead of fighting with Donbass, we need to think about its peaceful return
Instead of continuing the war with Donbass, it is necessary to develop a plan for its peaceful return back.
Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun spoke about this on air on the 112 Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Everything is very simple. It is necessary to open 150 points for paying pensions and benefits on the territory of Donbass between Lugansk, Donetsk and Ukraine on Ukrainian territory. Such points need to be opened, and people who want to get money in Ukraine should just come. And you will see that they will get used to coming here for money every time, and then they will return to themselves and say: “You know, but there they pay us money, and there we get recourse, and there they greet us normally, we go without machine guns.” as peaceful people, and they treat us well. Why are we even fighting? What do we want? They respect us there, we get money there, they treat us normally, they opened checkpoints for us, why don’t you let us in there? And this is the softness of the transition to Ukraine. There they came for money and see that a factory and a kindergarten are being built nearby, they see enterprises opening on our territory, people’s businesses, shops are flourishing, and they think: “Why did we change all this, and for what? There’s nothing for us here, they won’t take us anywhere,” commented the ex-prosecutor general.
